Hi, my name is Rebekah Josann and I am a Trauma Informed Certified Professional Life Coach and Certified Mental Health Coach (For education/training and awareness purposes).
It sucks to feel stuck, burned out, tired, depressed, anxious, and barely making it day to day.
Many of us try to navigate life carrying our trauma burdens with us.
Trauma can stem from multiple events. It is not only an affliction for those who are in war and first responder emergency professions like once believed.
Trauma reactions can reveal at any time from adverse childhood experiences, our adult life, a bad relationship, and even from the church as examples.
Those who were supposed to protect us and love us, when they fail us, we feel this deeply and the brain doesn't know how to handle the inconsistencies on its own.
Most of us don't recognize trauma when it manifests, often through sensory overstimulation, executive functioning decline, burn out, and painful struggle in forward movement.
You may be wondering what does trauma have to do with my identity?
Let's look at the word "Identity".
Webster's dictionary defines it as "the distinguishing character or personality of an individual".
It could also be defined as: "the unique person you are".
When we go through trauma, we experience psychological damaging effects to the brain that can alter our personalities, give us a sense of a loss of what we are about, who we are, and why we exist. This can lead to personality changes, behavioral changes, and more. It doesn't matter if we are believers in Christ. It can happen to ANY of us.
"you are stuck in patterns, behaviors, and habits that hold you back from succeeding in life, but you don't want to live this way. Yet, don't know the way out. you feel you are called to something greater, but have no idea where to begin."
This was ME.
I remember the days where my own mental health took a turn for the worse.
I would awake and endure 3-5 panic attacks a day, hiding in my closet, trying to push out the noise and the stress. Screaming.
Anything to seek relief from the physical pressure of life. At the time, I did not know about my neurodivergence which lead to even further sensitivity outlets and intensified how I was feeling.
There had to be a way out...
Finally, I was able to see a counselor, but she didn't truly get me. Eventually, she fired me as her client because my trauma was "Too much for her to handle."
I was told by another therapist I didn't qualify for EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization And Reprocessing Pyschotherapy for my chronic PTSD diagnosis because I didn't have the support system needed to last and get through it.
It seemed all hope was lost for me.
But some years later, an attentive therapist came into my life, truly listened to my frustrations, and showed me I had what it took inside of me to heal. She also empowered me with vision and told me I would end up helping others through my story one day.
Along with my faith in God, the Word of God, and willingness to take action, I learned more about myself over the next few years. Including my high natural intrapersonal and interpersonal intelligence levels at near 100%. These two words mean the ability to see into yourself and into others.
But I wasn't seeing my own gifts and abilities only.
That's when I knew, God, through my own trauma, gave me a gift to see healing on the horizon and an X-Ray type of clarity into others. To become an advocate and collaborator with those on the neurodivergent spectrum towards a better quality of life. I learned what was missing in a good therapist/counselor and saw a place where I could mediate in the gap for connections using natural giftings God gave me. Everyone deserves to be connected with a therapist and support team who understands them. For me finding one was very difficult and in my heart I knew there was a better way.
In 2019, God commissioned to me instructions to build Scripture Prescriptions Ministries.
In 2021, God moved me to launch Identity Recovery© a one on one, life coaching, trauma transformation program, whose mission is to serve those who are fighting to survive each day with collaborative resource building approaches designed to heal emotional and spiritual pain and break generational cycle patterns that often leads to physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual struggle.
In this program, we actively work together to locate the support network of professionals needed for the benefit wholeness of you. We also work within my coaching capacity of goal setting and forward movement, boosting effectiveness and efficiency.
Since then, more programs have emerged as I observed the need to explore other areas within autism: marriage support and autism parenting/family support.
You are here because you are searching for answers and solutions. You are not satisfied with the solutions you thought you found. Though I am not an autism spectrum therapist or autism spectrum counselor and cannot administer autism spectrum therapy as a pyschologist or give medications as a psychiatrist, I can help you navigate whatever it is you're challenged by and guide you to safe, secure, and advocating resources within my autism spectrum coaching programs for what we cannot work on. I am an advocate for YOU in ways that others were not for me. YOU ARE NOT ALONE anymore in the struggle.
I work with my clients to build network supportive teams that are on YOUR side and will work with us. There is a powerful movement in the combination of coaching and the right mental health professionals for you that YOU feel is a comfortable fit as well as community resources that may be available to you. We dig through every avenue and explore all options and possibilities towards your life goals TOGETHER.
Now, does this mean everything will work out perfectly and you will get everything you want in life? I believe those who peddle these promises are doing it for their marketing. One thing about me is I am REAL AND RAW. Life will hit. Bad times will still happen. We are going to have good days and rough days. We are going to have the days where we can't get out of bed or cry our eyes out. But with me, in those days, I am not going to shame you, guilt you, or tell you you're not doing well. I have those days too and am open about it.
In your worse moments, your greatest strengths are operating.
Keep in mind, we are human. We have emotions. We are not built perfect and won't be until the day Jesus makes us perfect.
But...one truth is you can be supported and you can still live a full life through the roller coasters with the right tools, strategies, plans, follow through, and effective solutions we collaborate on.
You are the best expert of yourself. But sometimes we need assistance to think outside of the boxes and limiting beliefs lenses.

"I worked with children for over 8 years. I also grew up the oldest of 7 children and carried much responsibility helping raise them. From these experiences with various personality types and styles of parenting needs observed, I am able to identify the languages children speak that we often can't understand at first hearing."
